Raiders is a competitive team that focuses on physical fitness and teamwork. It's designed to build leadership skills, endurance, and camaraderie among cadets.
5K
The 5K is a long-distance running event where cadets must complete a course that is 3.1 miles in length. This event tests the endurance, speed, and cardiovascular fitness of the participants. Its a team event, where the combined times of all team members can be used to determine the overall team performance. The 5K run helps build stamina and promotes physical fitness among the cadets.
Cross Carry Rescue
Cross Carry Rescue (CCR) is an event stimulating a rescue scenario where cadets must navigate through a course while carrying a weighted stretcher along with a weighted backpack, often representing an injured person. The course can include various obstacles and challenges that the team must overcome together. The goal is to compete the rescue as quickly and efficiently as possible, emphasizing teamwork, strength, and problem-solving skills.
O-Course
The O Course event is an obstacle course that a team of cadets must navigate through as quickly as possible. These obstacles can vary but often include: climbing walls, low crawl, hurdles, tire flip, tunnels, weight carry, and more. These courses are designed to test agility, strength, speed, and coordination, and they help build teamwork and resilience among the cadets.
Rope Bridge
Rope Bridge is an event where teams must quickly and efficiently construct a bridge using ropes to span a gap, such as between two trees or poles. The objective is to create a stable and secure bridge that team members can cross safely. This event tests the cadets' knot-tying skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
Tire Flip
The Tire Flip is an event where teams must flip a large, heavy tractor tire over a certain distance as quickly as possible. This exercise tests the cadets' strength, coordination, and teamwork. Each team typically takes turns flipping the tire, and the goal is to complete the distance in the shortest amount of time. It is a great way to build muscle endurance and team cohesion.
Gauntlet
The Gauntlet is an event only at the National Competition. It is an intense and challenging event that typically involves a series of physical and mental obstacles. Teams must navigate through various stations that test their endurance, strength, agility, and teamwork. The Gauntlet can include tasks like climbing over 12ft walls, running through rough terrain, crossing obstacles, and other demanding activities. It is designed to push cadets to their limits and require them to work together effectively to compete the course as quickly as possible.
